Linda Reineman Olsen— “As an artist, I strive to continually grow and experiment with different techniques and mediums. I find it exciting to explore new ideas and new techniques. Growing up in California, my family spent many years sailing on the west coast, influencing me to paint images of the sea. As a child, I would spend hours digging in tide pools and diving through the surf and kelp. It was magical, and I never took its beauty for granted. The fascination of the sea, and the peace it gives me, is constant inspiration for many of my paintings. I seek to create, on canvas, this romantic vision of the ocean and its wonders. The lore of Mermaids, and growing up with five sisters, has inspired me to paint these underwater divas in a modern light. Living by the ocean now has also inspired me to create images about the beach life I live.
