Rolando Duartes is a Cuban artist who looks to avoid a singular style, constantly challenging his craft and getting surprising with the outcome. — Rolando Duartes was born in Havana, Cuba in 1955. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and studied Art History at the University of Havana. In 1987 he did his first solo exhibition at the National Theater in Havana. It was followed by exhibitions in the Philippines, Colombia, and Denmark. In 1991 Rolando Duartes received a prestigious award at the 2nd Postage Stamp Design Contest in Japan.
