Michael Angelo Caci has been showing with the Frederick Holmes & Company gallery in Seattle since February 2016 when we introduced his I LOVE YOU and QUANTUM series of mixed media works. But technically speaking, his "paintings" defy description. Michael Caci began experimenting with digital technology, photography, papers, and paints several years ago. This new series, GOD OF THE RING MADE MAN, comprised of multiple layers of painted canvas, transparent film, digital film, and layers of resin mounted on panel, elevates the work to an unprecedented level of technical accomplishment and complex depth and beauty. His sophisticated sense of color, combined with his mastery of the materials, produce these amazing effects in the layered surfaces. There is a diffused inner light that seems to push toward the surface, like daylight is breaking through the clouds. Caci's work evokes the romantic sensitivity of the great Renaissance Masters were they alive today and using the tools of the 21st Century!. — Michael Caci works are largely mixed media combining layers of photographic films, paintings, metals and reflective media.
