Loie Hollowell’s (b. 1983, Woodland, California) paintings, originating in autobiography, explore themes of sexuality, often through abstractions of the human body and an emphasis on female forms — Loie Hollowell is an American painter. She was born in 1983 in St. Peter, Minnesota, and currently lives and works in New York, N.Y. Hollowell’s work is inspired by tantric painting traditions, and she has been compared to the artist Georgia O’Keefe. She is represented by Pace Gallery.
